It’s illegal for you to drink and your parents can get into a lot of legal trouble for allowing it.
No. Your parents will actually be charged with delinquincy of a minor, get majorly fined, possibly go to jail, and probably loose custody of the minor.
No, it’s not legal…
Realistically though, as long as you stay at home and and don’t create a reason to make an issue of it, probability is that the authorities would never know.
When I was underage my parents would let me have a beer at home, or at events on private property, {the family reunion at my grandmothers house for instance} or occasionally a glass of wine with dinner at home.
This was back in the early to mid seventies though, and times and attitudes have changed a lot since then.
At this point in time, if the wrong people found out about it, your parents could get in a lot of trouble
I don’t think being in New Jersey gives you any special privileges when it comes to under-age drinking. The law is pretty much the same in every state. The answer to your question is simply this, NO. Your folks, especially if they are foolish enough to allow you to drink, can get into a ton load of trouble. A) For assisting you to break the law, B) for not doing their job as parents, which is to prevent you from drinking.
Now having said all that, the realistic side of the coin says, sure why not? As long as you are at home, and not overdoing the drinking bit, not causing any trouble, and after your one or two beers go to bed, what is wrong with sharing a little alcohol with the family? I am sure, even if you were caught, the judge would look upon this in a flexible manner. After all, he/she was a teenager once. Which teenager has not had any alcohol before the they were old enough to?
