I worked in California for a month, but was a resident of New Jersey. Where do I pay state taxes?

I am using TurboTax to pay my taxes, and I have to buy a state for my state taxes. Well, I currently live in Texas with no state tax, but earlier in the year my residency was in New Jersey and I worked in California for a month. Do I do California state taxes or New Jersey? Do I even have to do taxes since it was only a month? I’m having a really hard time finding this information online, thanks.

You will need to file state tax returns for both New Jersey and California. You do not need to file a state tax return for Texas. You’ll file one federal tax return showing your Texas address. :)
