How did you pay for this item? If it was through a credit card you can contact your credit card and tell them you’ve already tried to get a refund from the seller but that they are ignoring your correspondence. Then the credit card will credit your money back and take the matter up themselves.

In the future, don’t make rush decisions. Scams are designed to take advantage of human ignorance. Don’t play the part of the fool.

My husband just got scammed online when he tried to buy a snowmachine. Your best bet is to notify the police – state/province, rather than just city/town, and provide them with copies of your communication with the scam artist (emails, etc.).

Good luck :)
