Craigslist is not a scam. You still have to be careful. They don’t have any control on what people post.

As far as buying a property. I would start with the HUD website. They offer all kinds of advice on buying real estate and have links to all of the government websites. Here’s there link.

The other option is to find a real estate agent you can work with. As a buyer, it doesn’t cost you any money and they can help you the most.
